Attendance to the 3rd annual Mosaic festival reached the 30 000 mark at the end of the third day this past weekend. The five-day festival ended on a big note, in Mississauga's Civic Square at 10pm on Sunday night, with a final performance of Sone Gubroo Punjab De, who were the 36th in the 2.5 day lineup of great performers.
Mosaic has now become the largest free private festival of the western GTA and one of the largest South Asian festivals of GTA. Mosaic is built apon the rich and vibrant heritage and culture of South Asia. The 2008 festival showcased more than 140 performers in 36 acts on the mainstage, including Oliver Rajamani from Austin, Tx. Europe's Soca and Chutney sensation S.W. Storm, Kundalini Shock Attack from NY, Dubslingers from Vancouver, and Sampradaya Dance Creations from Mississauga.
