Call for Artists: Celebrating 50 Years of Mississauga - Landmarks Edition!

In honor of the City of Mississauga's milestone 50th anniversary, we at the Canadian Community Arts Initiative are excited to announce a special artist call!
We invite local visual artists to submit their creations that capture the essence of Mississauga through its iconic landmarks.

Theme: Landmarks of Mississauga

Capture the spirit of our city by showcasing its landscapes, Cityscapes and landmarks, both historic and contemporary. From the iconic architecture to the hidden gems, we want to see Mississauga through your paint brush.

Submission Guidelines:

Medium: painting only
Proposal Deadline: March 30, 2024
Eligibility: Open to all artists in region of peel.

How to Submit Proposal:

Submit One paragraph of project idea, artist intro and a rough sketch by March 30th to mosaic.rsvp@gmail.com
Subject: Landmark Mississauga.

How to Submit the Art work:

Only the selected artists will be contacted by April 10 th.
Primed wooden boards 3’x2.5’ will be provided to the selected artists.
Artists will use acrylic paint to create their works.
Artist must write their name, name of the artwork and date at the back of the board
Primed Painting boards will be provided to the selected artists to create their art in May The Art works must be submitted by June 10 th to the office of CCAI Exhibition will take place in an outdoor venue on July 1 st , 2024 Selected artist will be paid honorarium.

Prizes and Recognition:

Selected artworks will be featured in a special exhibition as the part of the 50th anniversary celebrations in an outdoor festival.
Artists will be paid $500 honorarium for their art work.

Important Dates:

Proposal Submission Deadline: March 30, 2024
Notification of Selected Artists: April 10, 2024
Artists info and images submission: May 20, 2024
Final submission: June 10, 2024
Exhibition mounted: July 1, 2024.
