Asma Mahmood

Artistic Director

Asma Mahmood is the Artistic Director for Canadian Community Arts Initiative. An internationally known visual artist/curator and York University alumni, Mahmood has previously served on the boards of SAVAC, Chair for Art City in St James Town, Toronto, Community Editorial Board of Toronto Star and Mississauga Arts Council. Asma has extensive experience in community development and a project related to arts and entertainment and as the artistic Director of Promenade Gallery Mississauga. She was also the first voluntary Festival director of MOSAIC festival from 2006 - 2011.Currently she is the force behind Zeitgeist, the Biennial Art event project for the GTA. She is recipient of Queen Diamond Jubilee Medal for her services in the field of art and culture.

Sumit Ahuja

Programming Director

Sumit Ahuja, a professional in the field of event management & P.R. owner of MediaWorks!!, Sumit Ahuja is an exuberant, passionate and dedicated events guru. Her past work experience with Wizcraft entertainment has added to her strengths and Sumit's hat is adorned with many feathers. Sumit holds special regard for the seniors and aspires to make a meaningful difference in their lives. She serves as a Council member of United Way of peel. She is one of the pioneering members of the Mosaic Festival team and has been part of the mosaic family since the very first year of the festival.

Trupal Goswami

Festival Co-ordinator

Trupal Goswami joined the Mosaic family in 2007 as a volunteer and worked his way up to becoming the Festival Coordinator. Trupal love's basketball and is currently working as a welding inspector. As the festival coordinator, he has helped develop an enviable team of volunteers that have served as the backbone of the festival on their way to become the next leaders of the festival.

Dhruv Naik

Volunteer Co-ordinator

Dhruv Naik joined the MOSAIC family in 2008 as a volunteer and with his pleasant professionalism rose in ranks to become Volunteer Coordinator since 2016. He studied Hotel Management, and works at Courtyart Marriot. Dhruv loves dancing and is also a dance instructor and choreographer for Jadoo Entertainment Mississauga.

Demetrius Nath

Festival Director – RTC

Demetrius Nath Owner of antiskeptic entertainment, Demetrius Nath has led countless marketing & promotions campaigns for music, film & brands. Some of the artists worked with include Alexisonfire, Arkells, Bush, Cancer Bats, City and Colour, Dolly Parton, Feist, Melanie C, Paul Brandt, The Sheepdogs, Tokyo Police Club, The Used & Underoath. He recently launched a not for profit initiative called Mississauga Music & is also the lead singer-songwriter in the hard rock band MAYBE MAY. In addition, he is passionate about seafood.

Rahim Jetha

Admin and Hospitality Coordinator

Rahim Jetha is an active member of many Arts and Cultural Communities in Toronto and the GTA. He specializes in Media Relations, Event Management, and Event Logistics. He was also the past Programming Director for Desi's Rock segment of the Festival. Rahim works in Administration, Hospitality and as Sales Coordinator for CCAI. Rahim overseas the entire festival to make sure and ensure that everyone finds Mosaic Festival a home away from home, fun, enjoyable and are well fed.

Mitashna Dhiman

Volunteer Supervisor

Mitashna Dhiman joined the Mosaic family in 2012 as a volunteer and is now a backstage supervisor. She likes to dance and watch Netflix and is currently working at an accounting firm as a co-op student. As a volunteer she has helped to ensure smooth backstage operations as assistant to the coordinator.

Hunain Amir

Operations Manager

Hunain Amir is a 3rd year student studying Information Technology at York University and specializing in Security and Cloud. Hunain is currently completing his COOP this year at RBC as an IT Risk Analyst. He has been with Mosaic for 7 year and holds the supervisory position.

Ashwin Iyer

Logistic Co-ordinator

Ashwin Iyer is a Software Engineer working in financial technologies with a passion for music. He joined the Mosaic Festival in 2008 as a young volunteer with the goal of completing his 40 volunteer hours for high school. Seeing the sense of trust and responsibility given to all volunteers, Ashwin was continuously drawn back to the festival and grew out of the reserved and shy attitude to become a leader to younger volunteers ; first as a volunteer supervisor and now in the role of Logistic Coordinator. As the Logistic Coordinator, Ashwin supports all coordinators, ensuring that all facets of the festival are running in an orderly manner by allocating resources as required.

Malhar Patil

Security Coordinator

Malhar Patil is a Graduate from Seneca Aviation, and a licensed commercial pilot. He also competes in powerlifting regularly with a continuing passion in sports. He has been with Mosaic for 6 years and continues to be a supervisor this year and has promised all a plane ride after the festival.(we made this up hoping he will do it when he sees it in print!)

Pranay Ranjan

Backstage Coordinator

Pranay Ranjan is in the 4th year of Electrical Engineering student at the University of Waterloo. Pranay has worked with companies such as Pepsi, Intel, Lexus and BlackBerry for their various software needs. At Mosaic, Pranay is involved with logistics and backstage, working with volunteers and artists for another great year.

Jonathan & Rebecca Macias

Media Coordinators

The Black Umbrella Photography, husband and wife duo, Rebecca and Jonathan Macias, specialize in photographing Events, create portraits and document weddings around the GTA. Black Umbrella Photography are the Official Photographers of Mosaic, RTC and MISAFF. They started working as young volunteers with a newborn baby during the first Rock the Coliseum. They complete their 12 years with the festival and as parent this year as their son turns 12.

Zainub Qureshi

Logistics Supervisor

Zainub Qureshi is on her way to completing her undergrad in clinical psychology at the University of Toronto. She is passionate about arts and culture and surrounds herself with people that celebrate it. Zainub is an avionics enthusiast and is currently working towards becoming a licensed private pilot. As part of the logistics team, she is responsible for the behind the scenes aspect of the festival.

Humaira Imtiyaz

Assistant Volunteer Coordinator

Humaira Imtiyaz completed her studies in Graphic Communications Management at Ryerson University. Humaira showcases her creativity through photography, art & henna designs. She has brought these skills to the digital marketing aspect of the festival. Humaira has been part of the Mosaic family since 2012 where she began as a volunteer. Over the years she has provided invaluable contributions in various areas of the festival and is currently the assistant volunteer coordinator.

Fazal Ahmed Musa

Volunteer Supervisor

Fazal Musa has recently graduated high school as an IBT student and is planning to attend the University of Leeds for Law in the United Kingdom. Starting out as a volunteer, Fazal has now been a part of the MOSAIC team for 3 years. He enjoys playing rugby and is an avid fan!

Sana Raeesa

Social Media Coordinator

Sana Raees is a 4th year student studying at Ryerson University graduating with a Bachelors of Technology. She has been with Mosaic for 5 years and started out as a volunteer. Her passions include basketball, reading, and boxing

Manahil Sarfaraz

Volunteer Supervisor

Manahil Sarfraz joined the mosaic family in 2017 after years of attending the festival as a guest. Later in 2018 worked her way up to becoming a member of the executive team, as a volunteer supervisor. She is a second year student in the life science program at the University of Toronto, Mississauga. Her role at mosaic is to supervise the volunteers and the volunteer booth at the festival, among many other things. Manahil likes mosaic since it is a great way to bring the community together to celebrate South Asian music, dance, food and culture.

Rakhshan Mushtaq

Tech Coordinator

Rakhshan Mushtaq and Neverland Photography services have had a long association with CCAI. Rakhshan is the Owner & Operator of Neverland Videography, provides full video production services including concept development, production, and post production in GTA.He has been an Official Videographer of Mosaic Fest & MISAFF since 2012 and his excellent skills at editing and capturing the event have earned him praise form the festival artists and sponsors.

Udita Gangwani

Social Media Supervisor

Udita Gangwani's story is a tale of three cities. Ludhiana, the hub of hosiery in India, is her hometown with its vivacious culture and bustling streets. Here she began her journey. One flight away was Auckland, the city of sails in New Zealand, her second home. Across the Pacific, she now finds herself in the diverse city of Toronto; building the mosaic of who she is. Her life thus far is an exotic tale of three cities. Currently, she is a high school student, university-bound to study business at the Schulich School of Business. She volunteered with TD Mosaic in 2017 and as a part of the marketing team, she now has the exciting opportunity to help organize the festival and engage others with this dynamic festival.

Osama Usmani

Official Photographer

Osama Usmani is a self-taught, portrait/lifestyle photographer from Toronto. He picked his first film camera when he was a kid and slowly fell in love with photography. Everything got more serious when he got his first DSLR camera and since then he is pursuing photography professionally. He have been working in the Toronto area as a lifestyle photographer for the past couple of years, during this time he have had the privilege to work with various agencies and clients.
